Plastic in the sea and other littering is a global, but at the same time also a very local problem. Hold Norge Rent is a non-profit membership association that sees littering from a greater sustainability perspective and focuses on mobilizing for voluntary clean-up. Hold Norway Clean and Omhu believes that littering is a shared responsibility and that absolutely everyone can contribute.
This is actually the environmental challenge Norwegians are most concerned about, which is reflected in the fact that in 2021 over 600,000 Norwegians participated in voluntary clean-up campaigns around the country! Keep Norway Clean also works to map the sources of littering and understand why littering occurs. In this way, you gain increased knowledge about which measures can reduce littering, which is further shared with both business and public actors. Keep Norway Clean also works to inspire people to take care of the places we are happy in and to travel without a trace in our beautiful country.
